What are PennyTalk World plans?
PennyTalk World plans let you call your favorite places from your favorite phone for just one low monthly fee. PennyTalk World works with the home or mobile phone service you already have and doesn't require a contract or an Internet connection.

You may register one phone number -- your cell phone or landline -- and get unlimited calling from that number. Unlimited calling plans start at just $14.95 a month; 500 minute plans are also available.

Choose the PennyTalk World plan that is best for you:

  • U.S., Canada and Western Europe Plan: Unlimited calling to 20 countries, including the U.K., France, Germany and Spain (see plan details)
  • Asia Select Plan: Unlimited calling or 500 minutes of calling to China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand (see plan details)
  • India Plan: 500 minutes of calling to India (see plan details)
  • South America Select Plan: Unlimited calling or 500 minutes of calling to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Spain and Venezuela (see plan details)

Do plans include calls to landlines and mobile phones?
Calls to landlines are always included in a plan. Calls to mobile phones may or may not be included, depending on the country and the plan. For example, the Asia Select plan includes calls to mobile phones and landlines in China; for Japan, only landlines are included.

Please note that you can call any out of plan destination or mobile phone at low per-minute rates when you fund an Out of Plan Balance.

Can I use PennyTalk World to call locations that are not included in my plan?
Yes, you can. To make calls to locations that are not included in your plan, you will need to fund an Out of Plan Balance with a minimum of $5. If, for example, you have the South America Select plan, calls to cellular phones in Russia are not included in the plan. You can make calls to cellular phones in Russia using your Out of Plan Balance.

Your Out of Plan Balance can also be used for calls to cell phones in countries where only landlines are included in the plan.

What is an Out of Plan Balance?
An Out of Plan Balance allows you to make calls to locations that are not included the PennyTalk World plan that you select. For example, with the South America Select Plan and an Out of Plan Balance you can call cellular phones in Mexico (out of plan; 16¢ per minute) or landlines in Jamaica (out of plan; 9¢ per minute) in addition to unlimited calls to landlines in Brazil (in plan). Only the charges for out of plan calls are deducted from your Out of Plan Balance. There are no connection fees for out of plan calls.

You can fund your Out of Plan Balance when you sign up for PennyTalk World or at any time in the PennyTalk World online Account Center.

Will I be able to make calls right away?
Once your payment and billing information have been verified, you will be able to make calls with PennyTalk Mobile. The verification process usually takes 1 to 2 business days to complete. See the FAQ below for dialing instructions.

How do I call with PennyTalk Mobile?
Making calls with PennyTalk World is as easy as 1-2:

  1. Dial the PennyTalk World toll-free access number (800-687-9894) from your designated phone.
  2. Dial the international (or domestic) number that you're calling. That's all there is to it! There are no account numbers or PINs to dial.

Can I make PennyTalk World calls from more than one phone?
Calls to any location included in your PennyTalk World plan can be made from the one phone number you designate when you sign up. If necessary, you can change the phone number you choose to make plan calls from in the PennyTalk World Account Center.

Calls to any out of plan location can be made from any phone. When you make a call from a phone other than your registered PennyTalk World phone, you will be prompted to enter your PennyTalk World Account Number and PIN. (Out of plan calling rates will apply.) To make out of plan calling from other phones easier, simply register additional phone numbers you will call from using the No-PIN Dialing feature in the PennyTalk World Account Center. With No-PIN Dialing, you won't need to enter your Account Number and PIN when calling from one of your alternate phones.

Does PennyTalk World replace my existing home or cell phone service?
No. PennyTalk World works with the home or cellular phone service you already have, allowing you to make international calls from your favorite phone -- for a very low monthly fee. Please note that you must be able to dial a U.S. toll-free phone number to use PennyTalk World.

How will I know how many minutes I have left if I have a 500 minute plan?
If you have a 500 minute plan, you will hear your remaining minute balance as your call is being connected. You can also check your minute balance online in the PennyTalk World Account Center.

Can I see my call history?
Yes. You can see your call history online in the PennyTalk World Account Center. You will need to log in with your PennyTalk World Account Number and PIN.

Does PennyTalk World require a computer?
PennyTalk World works with your regular home phone or cellular phone. No computer is required to make calls. If you would like to use the online account center, you will need a computer with an Internet connection.

What are the out of plan rates?
To view out of plan rates, go to the Plans & Rates page and select the country you wish to call in the Find Your Plan section.

Out of plan rates are the same regardless of the plan you choose. In other words, the out of plan rate to Jamaica is the same whether you have the India 500 minute plan or the Asia Select unlimited plan.

How do I fund an Out of Plan Balance?
There are two ways you can fund an Out of Plan Balance: during the signup process or in the PennyTalk World Account Center. If you choose to fund an Out of Plan Balance, the minimum purchase amount is $5.

The convenient Auto Recharge option ensures you always have funds for out of plan calls. Auto Recharge automatically adds funds to your Out of Plan Balance when it drops below a threshold you select.

Are there any other PennyTalk World fees?
No. Other than the cost of your selected monthly plan, there are no additional charges, taxes or fees for calls made from a landline or cellular phone. Please note that a 90¢ payphone operator recovery fee applies to each call made from a payphone.

What payment methods do you accept?
Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards are accepted. We also accept American Express. The cost of your PennyTalk World plan is charged to your credit or debit card at the beginning of each monthly plan cycle.

How do I retrieve my PennyTalk World account number or PIN?
Click here to get your PennyTalk World account number or PIN sent to you by email. We will send it to the email address you provided when you signed up for PennyTalk World.
